Model development
The model has been developed in the period March 2007 till March 2008.
Field testing
Field testing was completed in March 2008. In total 11 field tests were done. The wineries were selected on basis of the types of wine produced and the size of the wineries in order to have a good representation. Small as well as large-size wineries are included producing different wine types a.o. sparkling wines.
Model translation
The models have been translated in the period April-June 2008. For the French model some final changes will be made based on the results of the workshop. The Italian and German models are finished. The Spanish model is nearly finished.
Workshops
In Italy two workshops have been held (23 April 2008 in Monteciano and 27 May 2008 in Alba).
IIn Germany the first workshop was held on July 15th 2008 in Geisemheim and the second workshop will be on August 21st 2008.
In France, two workshops were organised at July 1st 2008 in Bordeaux – for wineries in the “Aquitaine-Charente” region, and at July 8th 2008 in Narbonne – for wineries in the “Languedoc-Roussillon” region.
In Spain the workshops were held on November 17 and 18 2008 in cooperation with the Rioja Council.
